How Do We Monitor Your Oxygen Level?

Using the data taken from the O2 Ring, our Sleep Coach will monitor your oxygen level and pulse rate. Using the data, we can find out the number of oxygen desaturations episodes (oxygen drops) and the lowest oxygen desaturation (LSAT), as well as the number of pulse rate fluctuations and lowest blood pressure (LPR) recorded.

In the model seen, it shows a summary of a patient’s 7 day sleep session using the O2 Ring. In the summary, we can see the LSAT and LPR, as well as the number of oxygen desaturation episodes and pulse rate fluctuations.

Oxygen Saturation

ODI (Oxygen Desaturation Index) refers to the average number of desaturation episodes occurring per hour, where desaturation episodes are defined as a decrease in the mean oxygen saturation of ≥4% (over the last 120 seconds) that lasts for at least 10 seconds.

ODI can be used as an alternative parameter to apnea hypopnea index (AHI) in screening patients with severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
